<strong>Thomas Bach,<\/strong> abandonar\u00e1 su condici\u00f3n de miembro el 23 de junio, d\u00eda en que ser\u00e1 relevado como m\u00e1ximo dirigente del <strong>COI<\/strong>, seg\u00fan anunci\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles la organizaci\u00f3n.<br><br><strong>Bach<\/strong>, quien anunci\u00f3 durante los <strong>Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de Par\u00eds 2024<\/strong> que no se presentar\u00eda a la reelecci\u00f3n tras 12 a\u00f1os en la presidencia, present\u00f3 esta semana al <strong>COI<\/strong> su renuncia tambi\u00e9n como miembro, algo que la Mesa Ejecutiva de la organizaci\u00f3n aprob\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles, seg\u00fan indic\u00f3 en un comunicado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El alem\u00e1n, que en su etapa como deportista gan\u00f3 un oro en esgrima en los <strong>Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de 1976<\/strong>, comenz\u00f3 su presidencia del <strong>COI<\/strong> en 2013, sucediendo al belga <strong>Jacques Rogge<\/strong> (fallecido en 2021).<br><br><strong>Cofundador de la Comisi\u00f3n de Atletas del COI<\/strong>, fue elegido miembro de la organizaci\u00f3n con sede en <strong>Lausana<\/strong> en 1991, pas\u00f3 a su Mesa Ejecutiva en 1996, y tambi\u00e9n fue vicepresidente durante diez a\u00f1os.<br><br>La elecci\u00f3n del nuevo presidente para el&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.olympics.com\/ioc\"><strong>COI<\/strong><\/a>, el d\u00e9cimo en sus m\u00e1s de 100 a\u00f1os de historia, se decidir\u00e1 el 20 de marzo en la reuni\u00f3n de la organizaci\u00f3n en <strong>Costa Navarino (<\/strong>Grecia).<br><br>Siete candidatos aspiran a suceder a <strong>Bach,<\/strong> entre ellos&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/efe.com\/deportes\/2024-09-16\/aspirantes-presidir-coi-comite-olimpico-internacional\/\"><strong>el espa\u00f1ol Juan Antonio Samaranch<\/strong><\/a>, hijo del hom\u00f3nimo
